Thus passes the glory of the world. This is the verbatim translation from the Latin phrase “sic transit gloria mundi”, which is an eloquent way of saying that the worldly things are fleeting. This comes to mind when reflecting on the 20th Baltic Financial Forum, which took place in Riga today. It definitely was about finance - but hardly was it Baltic.
